With Thierry Henry gone there’s a competition to see who can become the main man up front at the Emirates. Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin Van Persie are contrasting players- the Dutchman works best from a deeper role while Adebayor has height and strength. At the moment the absence of the Togo man has seen Arsene Wenger going with just Van Persie up front
If he goes with two up Eduardo Da Silva is expected to challenge for a starting role and he has a reputation for goals. His record suggests that if he gets in, the Croatian might score enough goals to keep out a rival.
Behind these three seniors Nicholas Bendtner is back from Birmingham with an enhanced reputation, though he seems like a natural deputy for Adebayor. To add to the mix, Theo Walcott may be another striking option though he can also play wide.
