Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger praised the patience of his side after their 2-0 third round qualifying first leg victory over Sparta Prague put the Gunners in touching distance of the Champions League group stages.
Wenger's side rode an early Sparta storm in which goalkeeper Jens Lehmann produced some vital saves before Cesc Fabregas broke the deadlock midway through the second period.

Alex Hleb then set the seal on the performance with a late second to leave the Gunners on the verge of qualifying for the lucrative group stages having secured two vital away goals in the Czech Republic.
"I am very pleased with the result," admitted Wenger.
"The whole team has a resilience, they fight to the last second and we have shown that again when we scored the goal.
"It was a very physical game. Sparta played with a total commitment in the first half and stopped us from playing.
"But we needed to be patient and not make a mistake. We needed to play with more purpose going forward and did that more in the second half when we were more dangerous. "However, at 2-0 we are not qualified yet. We know we have to keep on our toes
